Director Tony Scott reportedly committed suicide Sunday. His death (as well as unconfirmed reports that he may have been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor) is tragic. I will always remember Scott for directing True Romance. True Romance may not be the best film or a perfect film, but it is one of my favorite films. And more importantly, it was one of the first films that inspired me, that made me fall in love with cinema, all of it—the acting, the dialogue, the narrative, the music, the sounds, the editing, the color, the visuals, the directing.
