More than 20 acts came together last night at Carnegie Hall in New York City for a charity show event featuring covers of songs by The Rolling Stones, who celebrate their 50th anniversary this year (and are expected to do an anniversary tour in 2013). The concert featured performers from a variety of genres, including Taj Mahal, Art Garfunkel, The Mountain Goats, Rich Robinson and Roseanne Cash.
One of the more interesting performances was Glen Hansard’s take on “Under My Thumb.”
Organized by New York concert promoter Michael Dorf, the show is one in a series of events since 2004 that aim to raise money for music-education programs. For a review of last night’s concert check out this article.
